Young carers take time out to party
Our Young Carers had the chance to relax and enjoy themselves when St Clement’s High School acknowledged their hard work and selflessness with an end-of-term summer celebration on 18 July.
Around 70 students attended the Young Carers’ End of Year Party, which has become an annual fixture in the school’s calendar.
Our school field was transformed for the occasion, with a 42-foot assault course, a large slide, a bouncy castle, a coconut shy, and limbo among the attractions on offer – along with free ice cream refreshments.
Partygoers were drawn from Years 7 to 10 across the school, which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, and were joined by the recent Year 11 leavers, who returned to share the fun
“The party is held annually at the end of every academic year and is becoming bigger and better each year,” said event organiser Robyn Fisher, who is Young Carer Lead at St Clement’s.
“It allows our Young Carers an afternoon of fun, as their role at home can be difficult.
“Events like this are extremely important. We like to show recognition and appreciation for all our Young Carers whenever possible, as they work tirelessly and selflessly every day.”
