At St Clement's, the school council provides an excellent opportunity for students to be involved in creating and contributing to an ethos that represents our PRIDE values.  We want our students to actively engage in improving our school community, as well as contributing to the wider community. 

Our school council meet to discuss important matters and highlight issues that impact their daily lives in school.  Our Head Prefect team work with the council to facilitate their work and help them to achieve their goals.

All students are welcome to apply to join our school council; the successful candidates will bring innovative ideas to the meetings for discussion, consider how they can improve the school community for all students and most importantly, represent their peers by raising issues and concerns on their behalf.

St Clement’s school council has enjoyed a great deal of success in the past which has benefited many throughout the school.  Such as securing the use of the village hall for break and lunchtime as an additional space to buy food and to eat, working with the catering team to discuss what’s available in the canteen, increasing the number of benches in the playground and working with Heads of Year to improve the rewards system, to celebrate the students in our school who work hard and demonstrate the St Clement’s PRIDE values.

The school council also have a long-standing relationship with Terrington Lodge Care Home in the village, with whom we work with every Christmas.  In partnership with the Music department, we visit the care home, deliver presents and sing carols with the residents.
